A retired Professor of French from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He possesses Diplȏme Supérieur d’Etudes Franҫaises (Troisième Degré) and Diplȏme de Franҫais Commercial from the Université de Bordeaux, France and holds a doctorate degree from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Prof. Raufu Adebisi has done some translation/interpreting works for many organizations including the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs, Jeddah (Saudi Arabia); French interpreter, Joint International Conference, organised by the Department of History, Ahmadu Bello University and the Université de Niamey, Niger Republic; French Editor, The Nation newspaper, Abuja, during the 27th Summit of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU); French Translator/Interpreter, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung sponsored Conference for West African Parliamentarians, Abuja.
Professor of French, Applied Linguistics and African Literatures in the Department of European Studies, University of Ibadan. He was Head, Department of European Studies, University of Ibadan. He has published articles widely in reputable national and international journals such as Journal of African Cultural Studies (JACS), Matatu: Journal of African Culture and Society, Voix Plurielles, Le Langage et L’Homme, Revisita Africa, Traduction et Langues and California Linguistic Notes. Prof. Ayeleru is currently the Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria French Language Village, Badagry, Lagos.

Her area of research include Caribbean Literature, French and Francophone Literature, especially of women writing. She speaks fluently, reads and writes, in the languages of French, English, Hausa, Yoruba, Ibo and Igala.
